Originally from the Mornington Peninsula, Simon Imrei is an acoustic guitarist/vocalist who has spent the last 15yrs working in the music industry in a number of different roles. As a songwriter and independent artist, Simon has recorded and released acoustic EP's and full length albums of original material, but behind the scenes has also been the inaugural editor of the Bayside & Mornington Peninsula music streetpress PEARL Magazine, organised many regional showcase gigs and successful Open Mic Nights and produced/hosted podcasts and community radio programs on 88.3 Southern FM .

Throughout the years Simon has kept a steady roster of gigs, performing around Victoria both solo acoustic and in a trio/band format with a mix of blues/soul and folk inspired cover versions and traditional pub classics and acoustic favourites. Solo, whilst he has a host of new/recent songs in the reportoire, Simon draws influence from seminal blues/soul artists and guitarists like Eric Clapton, Bill Withers, Mark Knopfler and Stevie Wonder along with classic songwriters like Paul Simon, Fleetwood Mac, Cat Stevens and Neil Young to create a set blending looped beats & rhythmic guitar with layered riffs and vocals. It’s a combination that leads to unique interpretations and creativity, whilst having the experience and repertoire to cater for the upbeat late night crowd when required.

In amongst the venue gigs, Simon has spent over half of his professional career providing entertainment for weddings and corporate functions across Melbourne and surrounds. Mostly in solo/duo format, he’s performed across the Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula in function centers and wineries, as well as provided entertainment for events at Crown Casino, Melbourne Zoo, Sails On The Bay, Carousel and more. For many of these roles, Simon has also added an MC service, DJ music for the breaks and sometimes broader function coordination and timing support to clients as a full turnkey solution.
